Ice Cream No More

Ice Cream No More

There’s something that always makes me sad about knackered old vehicles up on bricks, and I usually have the uncontrollable urge to want to rescue them. At the top of my most wanted list sits an ice cream van, a vehicle that consistently puts smiles on faces as it pumps out happy tunes and tasty treats. I’d quite like one in the front room, maybe as an office, but Twinkle said no.

My dad was an ice cream man once - I blame him for all this.

Spit ‘n’ Polish

We’ve just uploaded a new album to Flickr called Spit ‘n’ Polish. Most were taken by me, using the oldest camera in our arsenal - namely the clunky 50’s Lomo that Jones bought me for my birthday many years ago - focusing on the finer details of beatifully sculpted bodywork, both old and older. The very talented Andy Hall taught us the technique of ‘not looking through the lens whilst composing the shot or clicking the shutter release’, and all of these follow that very strict rule, causing proud owners to look in bemusement at this strange way of snapping their pride and joy. Some of these shots (including those shown above) were released as a numbered, limited run and sold in Selfridges of London.

New Born…

Twinkle has been busy with a range of super-long-legged characters, this being the first to see the light of day. My theory about her obsession with such tall characters is because she herself so vertically challenged). Once we have our amazing new Gocco up and running, we’ll probably print a whole shed load of these off and try to get them in the shops. Failing that, we’ll use them whenever friends go ‘pop’.

Ultra Compact Laptop Backpack!

ultra_laptop_02

back_1

The idea seems so simple, yet no one (in Sydney at least) is offering a backpack for a laptop that isn’t hugely padded or pocketed. All Jones wanted to be able to do was nip out for a coffee, with the laptop fairly well protected, but we couldn’t find a thin, ultra compact bag that he could stick on his back rather than carry. So, I made this.

Because it’s not bulky, you almost don’t know you’re wearing it. Made from a denim shell with a padded inner, it holds the 15 inch laptop snuggly, though (deliberately) there isn’t really room for anything else. The harnesses are fully adjustable, just as you’d find on any regular backpack, and the whole thing is held closed with 2 neat poppers. Anyone else want one?
